Uma classe vencedora, o vencedor da regata Marion-Bermuda 2001 , o  veleiro Alden 54  é um veleiro de alto desempenho com uma linha bonita e classica. Considerado um dos veleiros mais bonitos do mundo, de seu contrapeso é legendário.

 

Seu casco é construído inteiramente das resinas epoxy, fibra de vidro / Kevlar lamindo, em vacuum . Os anteparos estruturais principais são também compostos. e incrivelmente fortes, tem um centro de gravidade muito baixo e um limite elevado da estabilidade positiva.
