Record Mundial 49.09 nós
recordFrancês bate recorde de velocidade à vela e chega aos 49,09 nós


Antoine Albeau, é como se chama o frances que Bateu o record mundial de velocidade à Vela
Ainda não foi dessa vez que o homem atingiu a mágica barreira dos 50 nós à vela, mas os velejadores estão-se a aproximar cada vez mais. Depois de meses de espera, finalmente o forte vento mistral chegou a Saintes Maries de la Mer, no sul da França. E os windsurfistas já  lá estavam,à espera para novas tentativas de bater o recorde absoluto de velocidade à vela, num canal construído pelo homem. O vento mistral, de 45 a 50 nós, atingiu o canal num angulo perfeito desde a manhã, desta quarta-feira, dia 5. O dia parecia realmente promissor, e assim foi.


O francês Finian Maynard também lá estava, tentando melhorar a sua marca. Mas o dia foi do francês Antoine Albeau, que conseguio numa excelente rajada voar sobre o canal de um quilômetrode comprimento. Depois de várias repetições e estudos dos vídeos, a velocidade verificada pelo observador do órgão que atrubui os recordes mundiais, a World Speed Sailing Record Council, concluiu que a velocidade médias nos melhores 500 metros do hit foi de 49,09 nós. Novo recorde mundial, 0,4 nós mais veloz que a marca anterior, de Finian Maynard
